How to Order
The Playground wants browsing for that special purchase to be an enjoyable experience. You can search our site in a number of ways:
- You can browse by age, taking the guesswork out of whether something will be appropriate.
- If you are buying for someone who tends to give a long and detailed lecture on why, say, Meccano and only Meccano will do, you can search by brand.
- If you know what sort of toy or activity is at the top of a special someone's shopping list you can search by category.
- If it is a board or card game that you are looking for we also provide a categorised search tool for these.
- Enter a keyword or two into the search box to find all products with the matching word(s) in the product name or desciption.
NOTE: If there is an item you can't find please contact us by e-mail, fax or telephone and we will see if we can locate it for you. Just because it's not in our store does not mean that we can't get it for you.
When you see an item you want to buy, click on "Add to Basket". Your shopping basket appears, containing the product.

- The easy and safe way to pay for your purchases is with a credit card. We accept MasterCard and Visa.
- If you wish, you can also pay by cheque. Purchases will be sent out once a cheque has cleared, which means there will be a delay in your order being dispatched.
- Pay by internet banking

Secure Shopping
The Playground recognises the importance of privacy and security to your internet shopping experience. Store security is one of our highest priorities. We use technology called SSL - Secure Sockets Layer. This means at the checkout, our servers and your PC encrypt (scramble) everything that you enter into the computer, such as credit card details, billing and delivery addresses. Because it is encrypted, other computers are unable to make sense of it, therefore keeping this information private.
As part of the engine used by the store, there are secure processes built in. Specifically, the engine ensures every order has a unique number; every order is logged in a robust database; no credit card details can be emailed to us; all your payment details are retrieved by us in a SSL encrypted session; and confirmation emails are sent to you. We do this without revealing your credit card details.

The Products We Sell
We don't have a printed catalogue, but we do have something even better! The Playground's internet store is one giant electronic catalogue. The store has been designed to be as informative as possible. Colour photos have been included for all products, along with in-depth descriptions of the products. You can search by age, by brand and by category.

Our Guarantee Policy
You can return an item to us within 21 days, provided that it is in good condition and in original packaging.
For any goods that reach you in a damaged condition, simply return the goods to us within 21 days and we will replace or refund your purchase in full, including your shipping cost (please let us know how much).
Refunds will be made once the goods are returned, using the same method as your original payment. Please advise us that you are returning goods so we can look out for them.
Returned goods are the responsibility of the customer until they reach us, as we cannot be held responsible for goods lost in transit.

Overseas Shoppers
We currently only courier within New Zealand. Our service makes it easy for you to buy gifts
and have them delivered to family or friends in New Zealand.
Delivery Details
The Playground will deliver your purchases to you within seven working days of receiving your order. Although, you will usually receive them quicker than that. Orders will be couriered to your door. In order to keep freight costs competitive, The Playground is subsidising the cost of delivery. The standard courier fee for the whole of New Zealand is $6.50 except for
the Wellington and Wairarapa areas which is $4.00.
There is a $4.50 surcharge for rural-address (RD) deliveries. Also, the total courier charge is only $3.00 for South Wairarapa Rural Delivery (RD1, RD2 & RD3), $10.00 for Waiheke Island and $11.00 for Great Barrier Island.
All orders of $150 or more are sent freight free within New Zealand.
We can also take the hassle out of sending presents by delivering them to someone else's door, gift-wrapped with a message of your choice. Gift-wrapping plus a card will cost an additional $3.00. Select this option on the shopping basket page, after selecting the gift(s), and you will be able to add an appropriate message.

Disclaimer
We try our best to make sure that we provide accurate descriptions and photos of our products. Sometimes the colour and style may vary slightly from what is pictured. We also try to have items shown in the store in stock, however there may be the occasion when the item isn't available. If this is the case we will advise you immediately, and your credit card will only be charged if the product can be supplied, and you are happy with the delivery time.
